The multi-instrumentalist Ray Love has played with the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Chubby Checker and the Stereophonics before finding his way to the North Florida area. He plays with a suave classy funk that has mesmerized audiences since his debut in 1959. Ray plays the whole gamete of musical styles from jazz, funk, R&B as well as some blues. Ray is also a member of another band the can be found at the winery, The Teddy Washington Band.
The band, Sol Island, came to life out of summers spent playing roots, rock, and reggae at the Conch House in St. Augustine, Florida. Fans quickly loved the Island style of Johnny King, enabling him to play exclusively reggae-themed performances all around. His original song, "Sol Island World" was written from the inception and has become the theme song of the project.
Johnny King jams on lead and rhythm guitar. His soulful singing and tremendous talent as a composer of songs equally match his lead guitar work. As the founder of Sol Island Music & Productions, Inc., Johnny King operates under the name "Sol Island" for his reggae shows.
Many talented musicians contribute to the band, including Matt Lawson, Chris Washington, Soulo, Will Montgomery, and Pete Skenesky. Matt Lawson plays five-string bass. His roots in Gulfport, Mississippi give him a close connection to the New Orleans reggae-inspired sound. Chris Washington plays drums and bass.
